Simple Treasures

Hide and Seek is a new game for our family. Zalen hides and we find him. ha! Zalen is showing his personality more and more everyday. My family decided to make a quick trip to Florida last weekend. By quick trip I mean two days. The reason we went to Florida is because my mom had a stroke a couple weeks ago and her health didn't seem to improve. We decided to take my youngest brother with us to help drive and he turned out to be great company as well.  I enjoyed the mini family reunion, and I after over a year a marriage my mom and oldest brother was able to meet Jim for the first time!  When we arrived at the hospital and entered the NICU I found out that we couldn't take Zalen back to see mom. I felt so bad that he was so close to meeting his Grandma and couldn't even see her. My mom really wanted to meet Zalen too. The nurses told me he could get really sick if he went back there.  I was really nervous about seeing my mom in such a poor state and when I did finally see her I almost had an anxiety attack because she looked worse then I thought she would.  During...

I LOVE photography! I did some photo shoots for weddings and graduation to help pay for my first year of College. I don't have any school education for taking pictures but I have years of experience. I mainly like doing landscape and portrait. The down side to me loving photography so much is that I can be picky when it comes to me having my picture taken. My husband is a professional photographer and takes school pictures. We own a simple Cannon camera but I can edit pictures I take to look a little more professional. Here are some of my pictures. I love Cosmetology since I was young enough to know what it is. I don't know very much about it but I love putting on make up and feeling beautiful. I  also love saving money at the nail salon by doing my own nails. I've experimented with different brands of make up, nail polish, hair products, and facial cleansers to have a pretty good idea on what is good for my skin. Every woman's body is different so what I use may not work well with your skin.

I LOVE to go to thrift shops, boutiques, and resale stores for good deals. There is almost nothing more satisfying then walking in a thrift store and finding an item with the tag still on for less then 1/2 the retail price. Since moving to Michigan I have found a few stores that I always enjoy browsing and eventually buying something at. The stores are Once Upon a Child, Grow With Me, and Value World.  Once Upon a Child has great deals on Tuesdays. They call it "Tote Tuesday". If you have a tote ( you can purchase one for five dollars) you are eligible for amazing clearance price deals every Tuesday! Awesome, I know! A couple weeks ago they had a deal where every red marked item was twenty five cents...TWENTY FIVE CENTS! Of coarse I took advantage of that and spent a few dollars to get some "new" clothes for Zalen. I bought Osh Kosh, Carters, Ralph Lauren. and other top name brands for just 25 cents. Jim and I went to the North American Auto Show in Detroit with some friends. It was a lot fun!  We were surprised at how awake Zalen was for the whole time. So many new and shiny things every where for him to look at. Jim grew up going to the Auto Shows here but this is my firs t  time. I didn't think I would like it as much as I did. The best part for me was sitting in The Voice  chair. The Voice is one of my favorite shows so I was pretty overly excited for a while. ha
