Simple Treasures

I visited with my Mom on Sunday at her assisted living home. I always enjoy chatting with her about her day and hearing stories from the past. My Mom gave me one of the best compliments that day by saying that I look like her Mom with my short hair style. I enjoy compliments, especially from my Mom about my Nonna! I am blessed to have a beautiful Mother and Grandmother (who is in Heaven now) who love God and have an inward beauty as well as an outward beauty. My Mom and I haven't always been close and we are still working on having a better relationship but I do know that she truly loves me, my family, and God. She can come across as mean to people who don't know her and opinionated and stubborn to people who do know her...but in her heart she wants nothing more than to be with Jesus and see the rest of her family be with her in Heaven. 

Sometimes I do crazy things to get a good picture. Last week I had the worst cold but I also had my Mother-in-laws professional quality camera which needed to be returned soon. So what did I do? Well, I didn't rest if that's what your thinking. I went to two different museums with my two boys in two days. On a side note,Tylonel Cold and Flu works wonders. I pushed myself to go to these two places because I read that they had solar system exhibits. Zalen's 3rd birthday is coming up soon and his theme is on the solar system, rockets, planets..the whole nine yards. I thought these exhibits would make for an awesome backdrop for his birthday cards. The first museum we went to was a discovery museum. When we walked to the "Blast Off" room it was nothing more then a two liter bottle that shoots up when you press a button. I was disappointed but I could tell Zalen was having fun so I let it go. I have a phone that I bought almost a year ago that has a Kids Mode on it. In Kids Mode a child can play games, call family, take pictures, draw, or watch parent approved videos. I use Kids Mode when I am running errands and I'm on a time crunch. Zalen LOVES Kids Mode so it's a treat for him when I let him use it. Lately he has enjoyed the camera mode and taking selfies.  Here are a few...

                                                Brody is 7 months! I know, you can't believe it... I can't either! Looking back on his pictures I can see he was born with a smile and a twinkle in his eye. Every year my family (The Lynn family) get together for a reunion. This year we had a cookout in the backyard of my sister-in-laws parent's house. I had so much fun getting to know more of my sister-in-law's family, and spending time with my family. Another awesome perk to the reunion was that my brother Josh gave me some photography tips!                        Wonderful food and even more wonderful memories!
