Jim and I put together a photo shoot for my sister Evy, who is turning 16 in March. Jim took the pictures and I helped Evy with the posing and also edited the pictures. I think the pictures turned out great!
So, our story starts December, 2010 on a winter night. I was talking to mutual friend of ours via Skype. We caught up on news and then she brought up this guy's name..Jim. She said he was an great guy and that he holds the same beliefs as I do. I could tell she was trying to play match maker..so I just played along for fun. Unfortunately I did not set a good impression the first time I met Jim. Everyone in the world wanted to call, text, or chat online. Jim tried hard to keep the conversation going but I would have to excuse the conversation to take a phone call or text. Looking back now I realized how patient he was with me. Fortunately after that night he wanted to continue to keep in touch with me so we would Skype, text, or chat on Facebook. A few weeks of texting constantly (no exaggeration), skyping, and talking over the phone, Jim decides our friendship is ready for a new chapter and asks me as romantically as he can to be his girlfriend. I could tell Jim was a great guy...
Proverbs 17:22 - “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.” In the last three weeks in our Healing Balm Bible Study, I started with the basics of how to get started on finding healing for your PTSD, depression, anxiety, a loss, or a trial. Just to recap, the first week I talked about finding healing through God’s Word and prayer. Just like when we go to the Doctor for physical healing, we need the Bible and open communication with God for spiritual healing. The second week I talked about finding healing through your circle of friendships. When you have friends that encourage you to grow closer to God in low times you will find it easier to keep your focus on God. Your friends around you can lift you up so you can stay focused on God even in those low times. Also, you can do the same for your friends as well! The third week I talked about finding healing through your local church. Being involved in a ministry at your ch...
I visited with my Mom on Sunday at her assisted living home. I always enjoy chatting with her about her day and hearing stories from the past. My Mom gave me one of the best compliments that day by saying that I look like her Mom with my short hair style. I enjoy compliments, especially from my Mom about my Nonna! I am blessed to have a beautiful Mother and Grandmother (who is in Heaven now) who love God and have an inward beauty as well as an outward beauty. My Mom and I haven't always been close and we are still working on having a better relationship but I do know that she truly loves me, my family, and God. She can come across as mean to people who don't know her and opinionated and stubborn to people who do know her...but in her heart she wants nothing more than to be with Jesus and see the rest of her family be with her in Heaven.
