On the Move!

Image
My baby isn't much of a baby anymore. For the past week Zalen has decided it's time to walk. He needs assistance right now but he is becoming more independent every day! I'm confident he will be walking like a pro by 12 months. A few things Zalen loves to do is sing, ride and push his car, play hide and seek and mimic peoples hand and facial gestures. He can wave, do patty cake, shake his head no (not to happy about that one lol), high five, point his finger, say Momma, Nana. Zalen also understands a lot of words and there meanings like baba (bottle), outside, no, come here. He loves to bounce when he hears music and try to mimic the tone of the voices (future American Idol maybe?!). He also loves the outdoors which includes swinging, swimming, throwing a ball around, chasing bugs, and eating dirt. Zalen is growing up so fast I can't update the Blog enough ha!    Here are a few pictures below of Zalen and his adventures! Zalen and his cousin Walter playing a du...

Independence Day

Image
I'm so thankful for the men and woman who fight for our freedom. I have friends and family who have or still do serve in the military, so I know a glimpse of what they went and are going though so we can have the freedoms we have today. My Mom and her parents moved from Palermo, Sicily to come to America to live a better life. They were able to have better paying jobs, a decent place to live, and still hold on to their culture. That's what makes America so great!                                     God Bless America!

Summer Time!

Image
I love summer time, but with the summer comes allergies. Ugh! Zalen has enjoyed being outside and exploring a new world "out doors". He loves swimming, crawling in the grass, swinging, and chasing after bugs. I am so amazed at how much Zalen has grown in the past month. He has four teeth, loves to talk and tries to form words. He can wave, clap his hands, and play the piano (kind of.. ha!). I love feeding him and watching him chew his food and play with his food, ( he is STILL a baby). I love my little guy so much and I am excited to explore the new world with him this summer! Zalen was looking at Nana Teresa. Grandma's have a way of making him smile. :) He even looks adorable just waking up Visiting my family in Illinois  Jim wanted to see the Walgreens in Chicago, Illinois. So there ya go, Walgreens. Fun in the sun!

Detroit

Image
Jim and I went to Detroit with his Dad a few days ago. We went to the Campus Martius Park. Detroit is not your typical city like Chicago or New York. I felt like I was walking through a ghost town until we arrived to the park. The park was a nice little spot to relax with your feet in the sand. If anyone is interested in visiting this park when they are in the area I put a link to the park website below.  http://www.campusmartiuspark.org The Hard Rock Cafe was in walking distance from the park. My first time visiting a Hard Rock Cafe and I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be.

Florida

Image
My family decided to make a quick trip to Florida last weekend. By quick trip I mean two days. The reason we went to Florida is because my mom had a stroke a couple weeks ago and her health didn't seem to improve. We decided to take my youngest brother with us to help drive and he turned out to be great company as well.  I enjoyed the mini family reunion, and I after over a year a marriage my mom and oldest brother was able to meet Jim for the first time!  When we arrived at the hospital and entered the NICU I found out that we couldn't take Zalen back to see mom. I felt so bad that he was so close to meeting his Grandma and couldn't even see her. My mom really wanted to meet Zalen too. The nurses told me he could get really sick if he went back there.  I was really nervous about seeing my mom in such a poor state and when I did finally see her I almost had an anxiety attack because she looked worse then I thought she would.  During...

Photography

Image
I LOVE photography! I did some photo shoots for weddings and graduation to help pay for my first year of College. I don't have any school education for taking pictures but I have years of experience. I mainly like doing landscape and portrait. The down side to me loving photography so much is that I can be picky when it comes to me having my picture taken. My husband is a professional photographer and takes school pictures. We own a simple Cannon camera but I can edit pictures I take to look a little more professional. Here are some of my pictures. Enjoy!
